Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Phoenix Scholarship Breakfast, held Sept. 25, 2009 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel, raised more than $250,000 to help Arizona high school seniors attend college. This program is one of the largest scholarship programs available to Arizona high school seniors. RMHC Phoenix Scholarship Program offers scholarships to Arizona high school students from communities who face limited access to educational and career opportunities. Since inception, the program has awarded over 1,000 scholarships to students.

If want to find a job in a different region of the country. What is the best way to go about finding a high level COO, VP, or General Manager job when searching outside your region?

The job boards like Monster and others don’t seem to work well.

I think you should use a recruiting firm such as Robert Half. Professional staffing firms can do alot of the leg work for you so you don’t have to spend time looking through postings, filling out applications, and sending in cover letters and resumes. Most job postings online don’t give you any idea about the culture or the salary for the position. I’ve preferred this method of finding a job because I can ask the recruiter questions that I wouldn’t ask an interviewer until I had an offer.

Also, some companies don’t post open positions to the public and exclusively use staffing firms. These firms get paid up to 30% of your base salary once you get hired so they’re willing to put in the time looking for something that will appeal to you.

I know of the Internet web sites for job searching but how do you get in contact with recruiters in those areas? I live in the north east of the United States. My wife and I are considering relocating to the south west.

When you are looking for a job out side of your current area? You can find out about school districts and other beneficial information that would help in relocating? Searching Plus, I’ve experienced many companies want to higher people that are local.

Moving people across country at the company expense is a rare event today, unless you are at a VP or higher level. Some industries do more frequently, such as IT.

Better Jobs

When you were a kid you loved playing with toy soldiers right? Me too! I spent so many hours setting up battles around my house and in my back yard that I usually lost track of time and had to be dragged in for dinner. There were battles fought that involved trenches and tunnels to full scale ground battles. For all the toy soldiers I owned I had very few tanks and I always, always wanted one of those cool radio controlled tanks to include in my back yard wars. The tanks I had weren’t really as cool as I wished they were.

So now many years have passed and I’m a bit older (ok a lot older) but I still remember that feeling of wanting a toy tank that could move around and even shoot the way I wanted it to. years later I came across a whole range of radio controlled tanks that had all these features and more – some of them even create smoke and have realistic cannon and machine gun noises. For me it was like being a kid all over again. Even better most of these tanks were World War II models with all my favourites included like the M4 Sherman, Tiger, King Tiger, Panther and KV1 tanks.

These remote controlled tanks have reached a whole new level and are way ahead of what I dreamed about as a kid. They move and shoot in ways I could never have imagined. So now if you want to relive those toy soldier battles from when you were a kid you can do it now with full blown replica tanks included – and the best part…. you can say you’re buying one of those cool little electronic tanks for your own kids or nephews… nobody is going to ask any questions.

So when do you realize that you are going through a big credit card debt problem?  For some it’s when they figure out the monthly minimums will last forever, for others it will be a reduction in cashflow to then recognize they can’t any longer pay the bills.  There is one thing for sure and that is tens of millions of people are ensnared in consumer credit card debt and can fathom the financial severity of this.  Those people who come to the realization they need to get help have taken the first step in the direction of debt freedom.  The next step in this process is to figure out which program of debt relief will be the most helpful. 

Available to debtor are three mainstream types of debt relief that debtors typically use to alleviate unsecured credit card debt are CCCS plans, credit card debt settlement, or Chapter 13 bankruptcy.  All the plans possess their understandable negatives and positives. 

Credit counseling for a lot of debtors seems appealing because it has less of an adverse effect on the credit report.  The more serious drawback is that a lot of consumers in all reality don’t have the income to budget a credit counseling plan, in most situations the monthly output will be very similar to the minimum payments.  In addition if one payment is missed into the plan the consumer will get booted out and lose the advantages of a lower interest rate and one monthly structured payment.

Debt settlement for thousands is proving to perform the best currently in this bad economic arena.  This process is saving folks up to half of what they presently owe and assisting these consumers to get out of debt in just a matter of a couple of years, in comparison to three decades plus with the creditors monthly minimum payment treadmill.

Of course there is always bankruptcy which should be used at last option.  Bankruptcy will have a very long deteriorating effect on a debtors credit score and will be a public record for the remainder of the debtor’s existence.  In addition the hearing is painful to go through.  The state will control how much cash the debtor must pay back and how quickly they can do it taking full control of the debtor’s financial picture.

One issue is for sure no matter what the situation is, getting out of credit card debt needs to be a high concern for people experiencing tough income problems.   Remaining in credit card debt is equal to economic death and will leave you in the red for an extremely long time.   Be sure to locate some sort of debt relief aide as quickly as you can.
